We're Headed to the Zoo!
The first grade is taking a trip to the zoo on Monday! The buses will leave at 9:15, and will return at 1:45. We're hoping for good weather and lots of learning about animals and their habitats!

It's already February!?!
It seems as though the school year is flying by! Here are a few reminders about what's going on at school and in class during the next few weeks:
Feb. 1 (Tonight!)~ Dinner and a Movie Night benefiting Relay for Life
Dinner is served starting at 5:45pm. The menu will be salad and spaghetti.
The movie will be Ratatouille and will begin at 6:45.
Feb. 6 ~ Early Release Day
Feb. 14 ~ Valentine's Day! If your child is going to bring valentines to the class, please make sure he/she brings enough to share with everyone. We have 16 students. A class list will be sent home next week.
Feb. 18 & 19 ~ No School for Students! Enjoy the long weekend!

Holiday Party!
Season's Greetings! Our class holiday party will be this Thursday, December 20th. The party will begin at 12pm (right after lunch) and go until about 1pm. All are welcome to attend! Here is a copy of the letter that our room parent, Jen Carrauthers, sent home with your child today:

Dear Parents,
This is just a reminder that our holiday party is set for this Thursday at 12:00. If you have not already done so, please send in your $7.00 donation for the party. Also, please have your child bring in a wrapped book for the book exchange and an item for each child (16 students) to put in the goodie bags (examples are: pencils, stickers, erasers, etc.). If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. We look forward to seeing you all on Thursday.
