Target Classes May 8th and 9th

First, Second, and Third Grade Target Students,

Classes will be cancelled this week due to Field Days.  All staff work Field Day Stations; therefore, we will not have class on these days unless it rains.  Please bring your Target things if it looks like Field Day "could be" rained out.  Projects/HW are due on the 15th and 16th as stated in class.

Thanks for your cooperation and have fun at Field Day!

Stepping Into Target

Hi First Grade Target Students,

Thank you for checking the blog.  You may give me (and only me) this secret password, and you'll receive a prize for visiting our blog at home.  The secret password is.... Cinderella.

Please try to check the blog at least once a week to keep posted on what's happening in Target.

Thanks,

Mrs. Mack

2nd/3rd Culture Projects

Hello Everyone,

If you are having trouble finding infomation on clocks with your culture, it could be that the emphasis is on the calendar instead of the clock.  Build your project around the infomation about the calendar for this culture.

Thanks to Harold and Logan for bringing this to my attention.

Have fun,

Mrs. Mack

Star Gazing on Nickajack's Top Field

Hi Everyone,

Robert Webb, an astonomer from Elachee Nature Center in Gainsville, GA, will be bringing his expertise and 8 different kinds of telescopes to Nickajck's Top Field for an evening of Star Gazing on Fri., May 16th from 7:45-9:45 P.M.

We have had 17 families commit to coming so our price is down to $18 per family, but don't send any money yet.  I expect more responses tomorrow.  I will be sending a final letter and cost home in Tuesday's Red Folder.  Please return your cash payment to Mrs. Mack, not the black box.

It is going to be a blast!

Target Classes

Hi Students and Parents,

We are anxiously awaiting the start of the CRCT, and it's almost here!  During testing, we will still have testing; however, due to the small group testing that I am administering, I have no idea when we will finish.  Therefore, I will come to each Target student's classroom and pick them up for Target.  Please do not come to check or come down to Target yourself, as I will be testing in my room.  Please be aware of the DO NOT DISTURB ~ TESTING sign on my door.  If it is there, do not enter or knock.

Field Day is set for May 8th and 9th.  Target will be cancelled on those days.  Available staff assists Mr. Homansky on both of those days.  If Field Day is rained out, we will have Target class, so bring your Target things if it looks like a rainout.

Have a great week of showing off your knowledge on the CRCT!

Many Thanks!

Thank you so much for all of the donations to our classroom.  The kids love all the items you have donated to Mack's Market.  We shopped this week and will shop again the last week of school, so keep the goodies coming!  Many of you have been asking for ideas for Mack's Market.  Here is a list that the kids came up with for your shopping lists:  jewelry, mechanical pencils, pens, trinkets, bouncy balls, mini-memo pads, art kits, science kits, travel-size games and puzzles, stencils, books, etc.

Also, thank you for sending in community snacks on your child's snack day.  Here is the snack calendar for April.  Please have your snacks ready to serve, as there is no time to divide up snacks for everyone.  You cooperation with this is extremely appreciated!

Elachee Nature Center Opportunity

Thank you Mrs. Damron for sharing this great opportunity with us!

Elachee Nature Center in Gainesville, GA has a great education program for kids.  On April 11th and 12th from 7:30-9:30, they will run their Telescopes and Star Gazing Program.  The cost is $5 per child and $10 for adults.

They do offer to come to us for $250 plus mileage.  This would be a great family outing on our top field; however, the interested families would need to split the cost.  If you are interested in pitching in and attending "Nickajack's Night of Star Gazing," please e-mail Ms. Mack. We would most likely select a Friday night in May.  The week following Spring Break, I'll let those interested families know the cost, date, etc.

Thanks and have a super Spring Break!

Summer Camp Opportunities

Hi Students and Parents,

I sent home flyers this week about a Technology Camp at GA State University.  Mrs. Yost e-mailed me about another camp that she is considering for her children.  I am providing the link for you.  Please let her know if you are interested in sending your child, as she would love to have some buddies for her children at the camp.
