Everyone, including myself, is finally getting into the routine of things. I want to thank all of you parents/guardians for all of your contributions, support, and for attending Parent Orientation/Curriculum Night. Please remember that communication is important to help our students succeed.
Week of 9/12/11:
Math - We will be working on expressions, equations, and multiplying decimals (by whole numbers and by decimals). POTD continues to be nightly. We are on Week 5.
Reading - We are continuing to work on nonfiction features and beginning main idea in nonfiction text.
Science - We are continuing the study of the constructive & destructive process. This week we are studying earthquakes. There will be a quiz on the layers of the earth, volcanoes, and earthquakes on Friday.
We will continue having a spelling test & DLR test on Friday. This week is Sort 5/Week 5.
IMPORTANT:
- Your child should have had a sheet of paper stapled in his/her agenda on Friday, if you didn't attend Parent Orientation/Curriculum Night. This sheet informs you how to track your child's grades online. The website is http://www.engrade.com/. Each student has his/her own password, which is written on the front page of the agenda.
- The end of the first 4 1/2 weeks is Tuesday, Sept. 13th. Academic Alerts will come home on Tuesday, Sept. 20th, in Tuesday folders.
