Thank all of you parents for taking the time to come to conferences.  It is so great to have such caring and concerned parents.

The second nine weeks we will work on the following:

Math - Fractions & decimals (The letter went home during conferences.)

Science - Matter (states of), physical change, chemical change, etc. (The letter went home during conferences.)

Reading -

• Non-fiction text (Cause/Effect, main idea & supporting details, inferencing, summarizing)
• Figurative Language (Metaphor, hyperbole, personification, alliteration, simile)

Important Dates:

• Nov. 19-27 - Thanksgiving Holidays
• Nov. 30 - Last day to take AR tests for Nov. to reach goal.  (I didn't change goals for Nov.  They can take the tests when they return from the holiday break if they read AR books.
• Dec. 7 - Performing Arts Field Trip for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra
• Dec. 14 - Character Assembly @ 9:10
• Dec. 23-Jan. 9 - Winter Break

Reminders:

• Sign Agendas every night
• DLR and Spelling tests are every Friday
• Check Engrade for any questions about graded/missing work (Engrade.com)
• Have students read each night, even though they don't have reading logs
• Send notes for any transportation changes
