NICKAJACK IDOLS TALENT SHOW INFORMATION

MARK YOUR CALENDARS:

Talent Show Rehearsal Dates: 

- Opening Number:  Monday, March 21^st 2:30-4:30

    *Even though we aren’t practicing individual acts this day, you must have your music with you and clearly marked so that we can import your song onto the master song list.  Please keep in mind that your talent should be 1 minute 30 seconds or less.  If your song is longer, we will fade it for you at this time.  

- Wednesday, March 23^rd 2:30-4:30

 - Tuesday,  March 29^th 2:30-4:30

- Dress Rehearsal:  Wednesday, March 30^th  2:30-4:30

     * All participants must wear their costume for the Talent Show during dress rehearsal.  Please note that costumes may need to be changed if we feel that it is inappropriate for school activities.  

- Talent Show "The BIG Day!":  Thursday, March 31^st at 6:00 P.M.

    * Please arrive by 5:40 pm. in the music room.

What:    Smyrna Tree Lighting with the _{Nickajack Braves Chorus}

Where:  SMYRNA COMMUNITY CENTER in MISTLETOE HALL

              (Mistletoe Hall is the large room located to the left of the gym)

When:   TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 30, 2010 … 6:00 p.m. (NES performs)

             (Tree Lighting will take place in front of the Community Center at 7:00 p.m.)

                          ^{2nd grade/Multi-Age} and the _{Nickajack Braves Chorus}                                                         

Where:   NICKAJACK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (Cafeteria)

When:    THURSDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2010

Time:     FESTIVITIES: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

              PERFORMANCE: 7:00 p.m.

Report Time:   6:40 p.m.

~ All students performing are encouraged to enjoy these fun-filled activities until 6:40 p.m.

 *AT 6:40 P.M. ALL CHORUS STUDENTS MUST REPORT TO THE  MUSIC ROOM.

 *AT 6:40 P.M. ALL 2^ndGRADE & MULTI-AGE MUSIC REPORT TO HIS/HER HOMEROOM CLASS.

~ Performances begin at 7:00 p.m. with

3rd Grade Music Class

3rd Grade Music Assignment:

1. Choose a song: a popular song, patriotic song, song we have learned in class, etc.

2. Listen to it carefully, and determine what tempo it is in. See below for helpful reminders on what we have been learning in class).

 3. Come to class prepared with your song title, the song's tempo, and the melody/lyrics to familiarize the class with your song choice.
